Privacy Policy
The short version. We collect only what you type into our contact form, plus the basic technical data any website receives. We use it to reply to you. We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't track you around the internet. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to privacy@aplomb.cpa.
Who we are
This website (aplomb.cpa) is operated by Aplomb Business Management LLC ("Aplomb," "we," "us"). We are responsible for the information collected through this site. If you have a question about this policy, email privacy@aplomb.cpa.
This policy covers the website only. If you become a client, the information you share during the engagement is governed by your engagement letter and any NDA we sign with you, which set a higher standard than this page.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form on this site, we receive what you enter: your name, email address, phone number, the role you select (creator, manager, agent, or attorney), and your message.
Please don't put anything sensitive in a form, such as tax ID numbers, account details, or financial documents. We'll arrange a secure way to receive those if we work together.
Information collected automatically. Like any website, our hosting provider receives standard technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.
What we don't collect. We don't use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or marketing cookies on this site.
How we use it
We use what you send us to read your message, reply to you, and decide together whether an engagement makes sense. We may also use it to keep a record of our correspondence with you. That's the whole list. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.
Where it's stored and who can see it
Form submissions are received and stored by Netlify, Inc., the company that hosts this website, on servers located in the United States. From there they are forwarded to our email inbox. Access is limited to Aplomb personnel who need it to respond to you.
A few other service providers handle limited data so the site can work:
- Netlify hosts the site and processes form submissions and server logs.
- Google Fonts and unpkg deliver the typefaces and icons on the page, which means your browser shares your IP address with them when the page loads.
- Proton, our email provider, stores the correspondence that follows.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
How long we keep it
If we don't end up working together, we delete your form submission and related correspondence within 12 months of our last contact. If you become a client, your information moves into our client records and is kept for as long as professional record-keeping rules require.
You don't have to wait. You can ask us to delete it sooner, and we will.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you,
- correct anything that's wrong, or
- delete it.
Email privacy@aplomb.cpa with the subject line "Privacy request" and we'll respond within 30 days.
Where your data lives
Our service providers store data in the United States. If you contact us from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to submissions is restricted. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, which is one more reason to keep sensitive details out of the form.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
